The “De” Services”
Buyers want to focus on themselves, not you. They can’t do that if your house is too messy, packed to the rafters with your things, and still has your personality stamped all over it. Our “De” services at ElementsRE are aimed towards making your house the appealing and neutral space it needs to be so that prospective buyers won’t have a hard time envisioning themselves in it.
De-clutter. In our society, there’s no denying the fact that we have too much stuff. Over time we all become hoarders. This becomes a problem when we’re showing our homes to potential buyers who, typically, cannot see beyond the clutter.
At ElementsRE, we’ve seen homes that are in good condition get rejected because people think they needed to be renovated – when, in fact, all they need is a good de-cluttering. We’ll remove things that you don’t regularly use, take out bulky furniture and out-of-place accessories, and ensure that everything is in its proper place.
De-personalize. You want to enable your buyers to visualize themselves living in your house. Your personal artifacts, precious though they may be to you, are just going to distract them. You’ll have to put away your photographs, souvenirs, trophies, medals and certificates, posters, religious items, family heirlooms, and so on. Your pets will have to stay somewhere else while your home is being shown as well.
Detach. We know that it’s not easy to be objective about your home. Nevertheless, it’s necessary if you want to get it sold fast and for the best price. We’ll help you get emotionally detached, stay on track, and come up with a timetable and game plan that will work for you.
Our “De” services typically include scheduling and coordinating services such as:
- Professional packers/organizers
- Maid services
- Pod rentals
- Trash pickups
- Trash bins
- Garage sales
We’ll make recommendations and get the best professional organizers, movers and cleaners to get your property list-ready efficiently and cost-effectively.
Significant Return on Investment
Getting your house cleaned and de-cluttered will have dramatic results – and they won’t be pricey. According to the HomeGain 2012 National Home Improvement Survey, “the average recommended cost for this project is $402 with a returning value of just over $2,000 to the home’s sale price.” That’s a 403% return on investment! It’s no surprise that cleaning and de-cluttering remains the most highly recommended home improvement.
